Administration
Accomplishments
Progress for Maine and Maine people. That’s what Janet is all about – and as Governor, she has delivered time and again, including:
Expanding health care to more than 93,000 people by following the will of Maine voters and expanding MaineCare on Day One
Helping Maine businesses and their employees afford health care through her Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan
Making historic investments in Maine schools, fully funding – for the first time in Maine history – Maine’s public school systems
Expanding Pre-K programs across Maine and funding new equipment for Maine Career and Technical Education (CTE) Centers
Leading Maine through the COVID-19 pandemic with nation-leading results, including one of the highest vaccination rates and lowest COVID-19 death rates in the nation
Protecting Maine’s cherished lands and waters – including working waterfronts, forests and farmlands – by reinvigorating the Land for Maine’s Future Program
Fighting the climate crisis by establishing the Maine Climate Council and working with communities to make Maine more energy-efficient and embrace clean, renewable power
Dedicating unprecedented funding to fix Maine’s roads and bridges
Providing direct inflation relief to Mainers in the form of $850 checks, that will provide economic assistance to more than 850,000 Mainers
With Maine’s economy making a strong comeback, and more people moving to Maine, she is laser-focused on strengthening and making sure Maine is the best state in the nation to live, work, and raise a family. That’s why she has passed unprecedented investments in the things Maine people need to be successful, like child care, housing, broadband and why she gave back half of Maine’s surplus to Maine people to help them fight inflation.
Despite the pandemic, Maine has made significant progress under Janet in just three and a half years, and she wants to keep Maine moving forward.
